The task of the junior professorship is the development of innovative wood-based material systems and joining technologies, in particular bonding, for application in timber engineering constructions. The chances of digital and robotic manufacturing technologies in timber construction should be taken into account. This requires methodical work in modelling, simulation and optimization of materials as well as experimental research. The junior professorship is located at the Institute of Construction Materials and closely linked to the Materials Testing Institute University of Stuttgart (MPA), Department Timber Constructions. In addition, interdisciplinary cooperation with other institutes of the faculties of the University of Stuttgart and in particular with the Cluster of Excellence "Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture" (IntCDC) is expected.
The position involves teaching in German and English especially in the Bachelor's and Master's study programs of Faculty 2: Civil and Environmental Engineering.
We are searching for a personality who should be distinguished by high-ranking scientific publications and/or comparable achievements with international visibility.

Conceivable successes are, for example, those in the fields of research, teaching, science and society, knowledge and technology transfer, inventions and patents, software development or spin-offs.
