Junior Professorship (W1) "Design of Adaptive Structures in Civil Engineering and Architecture"
University of Stuttgart
Junior Professorship (W1, without Tenure Track) "Design of Adaptive Structures in Civil Engineering and Architecture"
INSTITUTE FOR LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURES AND CONCEPTUAL DESIGN (ILEK) | AS OF JANUARY 1ST, 2019
The appointment is part of a gender equality policy to increase the proportion of qualified female junior professors. Embedded in the different research areas of the institute and of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1244 "Adaptive envelopes and structures for the constructed environment of tomorrow", the person to be appointed is to focus on researching the design methods and processes required for the design and construction of adaptive structures. In these processes, different engineering requirements for adaptive components and buildings, some of which are very specific, must be combined with the requirements to be met from an architectural point of view. The junior professorship has an interdisciplinary orientation, combining architectural, (civil) engineering and system technology aspects.
We are looking for a highly qualified young scientist with a sound education in engineering, initial experience in at least one of the above-mentioned research areas and the ability to work on an interdisciplinary basis.
The person to be appointed participates in the teaching tasks of Faculty 2: Building and Environmental Engineering as well as in the academic self-administration, and independently raises third-party funds. Active participation in the CRC is expected, which can also include subproject management if re-approval of the CRC is successful.
