Junior Professor for "Educational Technology in a Digitally Networked World"
(W1 with Tenure Track W2)
funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States ("WISNA") to start as soon as possible.
The professorship is to be dedicated to school practices with special consideration of digitized educational media and learning environments in their socio-economic contexts. It will research and teach at the intersection of German didactics, media studies and empirical educational research. The applicant should have a research focus in the field of didactics of digital educational media and be able to represent German didactics in teaching and research in its entire breadth. Both in research and teaching, a reference to current issues of digitization is expected.
At the TU Braunschweig a cooperation in the research focus "Future City" is expected. In addition, participation in the general courses offered by the Institute of German Studies in all study courses, in administration and self-administration as well as the willingness to participate in interdisciplinary projects within the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences and with other faculties of the TU Braunschweig are expected. At the GEI, in the department "MedialeTransformationen", the didactic research of digital educational media, especially within the Digital Lab of the institute, is in the foreground in the function of a team leader. A transdisciplinary cooperation and an expansion of the networking of both institutions on a national and international level are expected.
The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statues of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NiedersächsischesHochschulgesetz). In addition, an outstanding doctoral degree with a Germanic background is required as well as further publications in the professorship's profile area.The faculty attaches particular importance to pedagogical and didactic aptitude and therefore asks applicants to present this in detail.

One focus is on researching digital educational media in their social, political, historical and economic contexts.
The working hours are divided equally between the two institutions (TU Braunschweig and GEI).
