Junior Professor for
"Early Modern History / Urban Cultures of Knowledge in Comparative Perspective"
(W1 with Tenure Track W2)
funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States("WISNA") to start as soon as possible.
The applicant must be able to teach and conduct research in all aspects of early modern history. With regard to research, one of the applicant's strengths should be in cultures of knowledge in comparative perspective. In addition, the applicant is expected to be involved in the entire range of courses offered by the Department of History in all degree programs, to be involved in departmental administration and autonomy, and to be prepared to be involved in interdisciplinary projects within the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, as well as with other faculties at the TechnischeUniversität Braunschweig. The applicant is also expected to participate in the work and activities of the Institut für BraunschweigischeRegionalgeschichte.
The junior professor's initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statues of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NiedersächsischesHochschulgesetz).
