The University of Bayreuth is a research-oriented university with internationally competitive, interdisciplinary focus areas in research and teaching. The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
Junior Professor
of Social Entrepreneurship
(pay grade: W 1) with Tenure Track to W 3
to commence on 1 April 2021 (minimum salary per month: 4,912 euros). This is a fixed-term civil service position.
We seek to appoint a young researcher with the ability to work independently and who shows a high potential for development. Applicants should prove to be able to comprehensively represent the field of social entrepreneurship in research, teaching, and transfer activities. The new hire will be actively involved in the Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and be involved in expanding the University of Bayreuth's start-up ecosystem with new social entrepreneurial offerings beyond the boundaries of the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics, and the university.
The applicants should, if possible, already demonstrate initial publication success in international journals and clearly show potential to publish in leading journals in the field of social entrepreneurship. Proven skills in quantitative-empirical research are desirable to fit the focus of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the University of Bayreuth.
In teaching, a proof of qualification as well as the ability and willingness to use innovative teaching and learning methods in the field of social entrepreneurship would be a strong asset. Furthermore, we expect the candidate to show experience in or the willingness to develop inter-faculty teaching.
In order to support the Third Mission (knowledge transfer), applicants should already have initial experience in establishing a regional (socio-entrepreneurial) start-up network. This includes, for example, participation in start-up-focused transfer projects, the establishment of cooperation with corporate partners and partners from the social sector as well as the practice-oriented acquisition of third-party funds.
A commitment to academic self-administration is expected. Ideally, applicants will have already been involved in the academic training and support of students and doctoral candidates.
The ability to teach in English is expected.
