The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in cooperation with the German Rheumatism Research Centre Berlin (DRFZ) jointly invite applications for the following position commencing as soon as possible:
Full University Professorship
for Immunology of Inflammation
(Salary group W3 BBesG, for a limited five-year term)

The employment will be for five years with the possibility of tenure, provided further funding through the DRFZ and following successful evaluation.
The successful candidate will be appointed as Head of the Research Group "Immunology of Inflammation" within the newly founded Leibniz ScienceCampus Berlin "Center for Chronic Inflammatory Diseases".
Charité and DRFZ seek to fill this position with an outstanding, internationally recognized scientist with an excellent track record in the fields of
immunology and inflammation. A publication record demonstrating high-
impact research and a strong funding record are expected, as well as the initiation of third-party funded research projects. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities at Charité and DRFZ, supervise Master, Bachelor and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self-organization.
A substantial contribution to the relevant research focus and research consortia of the Charité (www.charite.de) and the DRFZ (www.drfz.de) and to the interdisciplinary research networks/Graduate Schools as well as cooperation‘s with the clinical departments of the Charité and other institutions in Berlin and Brandenburg is expected.
Qualification: as per § 100 Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG) junior professorship or postdoctoral thesis (Habilitation), or equivalent scientific achievement and teaching qualification. Completed university degree as well as doctorate (Ph.D and/or M.D.) in medicine or natural sciences is required.
