to begin as soon as possible. The position is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Informatics and in the future to the TUM School of Computation, Information & Technology and is affiliated with the Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI), TUM's central interface and innovation hub for questions and solutions arising from Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the area of Research Data Management with a focus on Data Integration, Interoperability, Reproducibility, Open Science, Knowledge Management and Data Science. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university's bachelor and master programs. The successful candidate will also co-direct the MDSI, in particular the core pillar of „Data Science Services and Consulting“.
We are looking for candidates with an exceptional international research and teaching reputation and an established academic record through an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
