Full Professor of
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 7,217 euros) to commence on 1 October 2022. This is a permanent civil service position.
We are looking for a personality with a proven track record in research and teaching who is active and internationally visible in the synthesis and application of functional organic molecules, for example in natural products and drug research, materials research or molecular life sciences. Demonstrated expertise in synthetic organic chemistry is a prerequisite. Successful acquisition of third-party funding and the ability for interdisciplinary cooperation, also in initiatives to establish new research networks and coordinated programmes, are expected. Cooperation within the interdisciplinary focus areas of the University, in particular Molecular Biosciences, Polymer & Colloid Science and Food & Health Sciences as well as other research institutes at the University of Bayreuth is also expected.
The future holder of the position will represent the field of organic chemistry in its full spectrum in all relevant current and planned bachelor's and master's programmes involving chemistry at the University of Bayreuth. The ability to teach in English and German is expected.
