Full Professor (W3) of Neurobiology of Social Communication (f/m/d)
The ideal candidate's work is rooted in the neurobiology of vocal communication in at least one complex animal model with an emphasis on cognition, sensory-motor integration, motor pattern generation and developmental processes underlying vocal communication.
Expected professional skills:
International scientific visibility and an excellent publication record in the field of the neurobiology of vocal communication in leading international peer-reviewed journals
A broad spectrum of animal model systems and a broad range of behavioral, psychophysical, neuroethological and neurophysiological approaches to investigate preadaptations of human behavior and its dysfunctions in an innovative non-classical mammalian model system
Ample experience in directing experimental projects (FELASA Cat. C), as well as managing animal housing and breeding facilities of complex animal models (in accordance to §11, TierSchG) are highly desirable.
The future holder is expected to establish interdisciplinary scientific collaborations with departments in the medical and science faculty to investigate social communication, sensory-motor integration, motor pattern generation and/or developmental aspects of these processes as well as their dysfunction in a comparative approach relying on different vertebrate species.
Extensive experience as well as committed participation and active shaping of teaching in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine Tübingen are expected.
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent international degree and postdoctoral qualifications equivalent to the requirements for tenure. This includes evidence of teaching effectiveness. Teaching is to be conducted in German and English.
