of Medical Information Systems
The successful candidate is expected to show international research publications in medical informatics and specialize in the following areas:
Clinical information systems
Standardization of exchange and integration of clinical data
Systems for treatment decision support
Visualization of medical data
The Professor of Medical Information Systems is part of the Medical Faculty, in the Center of Applied Medical Informatics and Information Technology, which is currently being established; he/she will head the Applied Medical Informatics section. This post is to focus on translational research in e-health and the applications of medical informatics.
The professor will contribute to teaching the existing curriculum (BSc) in medical informatics and the new Master‘s program in medical informatics as well as to programs in medicine, dental medicine, molecular medicine, and medical technologies. A willingness to contribute to related study programs is also desirable.
The professor is expected to contribute to coordinated research activities (e.g., collaborative research centers) and existing research centers (Center for Medical Informatics, Center for Personalized Medicine, Quantitative Biology Center, German Centers for Health Research). Participation on university committees is also expected, as is collaboration with the University Hospitals‘ IT division.
Formal requirements for appointment are the Habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualification, as well as proven teaching aptitude.
