The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Livestock Systems Engineering
at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering to be filled in the summer semester 2018.
The successful candidate will represent the department in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences degree
programs. The position entails teaching both in German and in English.
The research focus of the professorship lies particularly on the interdisciplinary development and assessment of
innovative methods and solutions for husbandry procedures, process engineering, and management in livestock
husbandry. Preferably, the applicant should have in-depth knowledge in one or several of the following areas:
experimental methods of animal husbandry, modeling and simulation as well as precision livestock and digital
The applicant is required to collaborate with the interdisciplinary research centers of the University of Hohenheim
and to cooperate intensively with other professorships in the area of Agricultural Engineering and Animal
Science, as well as cross-faculty cooperation on a national and international level. Participation in activities for
the promotion of young researchers in doctoral and graduate programs is expected.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are
habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or
