The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
Full Professor of International Macroeconomics
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 6,683 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position (successor to Prof. Dr. Bernhard Herz, Chair of Economics I - International Economics & Finance).
The new postholder will represent the area of international macroeconomics in research and teaching. The candidate should have an international track record
of research in the application of quantitative methods in international macroeconomics with publications in leading international journals. A research interest
in the area of monetary economics as well as experience with external funding would be welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to interdisciplinary
research within and across faculties of the University. He or she will also be expected to contribute to the focus area Governance & Responsibility.
The successful candidate will apply his or her didactical skills and competences in introductory courses in economics as well as courses for the interdisciplinary bachelor's
and master's programmes. Besides giving courses for teacher education within the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics, the main teaching duties are courses in (international)
macroeconomics. The incumbent will also support the teaching of economics courses in interdisciplinary bachelor's and master's programmes and be involved in postgraduate training.
In order to foster internationalization at the University, a strong international research network as well as the ability to teach in English are expected.
