The Department of Physics in the Faculty of Sciences, subject to the approval of the
Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst, Baden-Württemberg and the
Universitätsrat seeks to fill a
W3-Full Professorship of
at the earliest possible date.
The professorship is advertised as part of the female professors program of the federal
and state governments ("Professorinnenprogramm"). The aim of the program is to
support the equality of women and men in higher education, to improve the
representation of women at all levels of qualification in the science system and to
increase the number of female researchers in academic top positions.
We are looking for a scholar with international visibility and broad expertise in research
concerning the field of condensed-matter physics with emphasis on modern aspects,
such as, but not exclusively, non-equilibrium and fluctuation-dominated effects,
nonlinear properties, structured or nano materials, emergent or topological phenomena.
Candidates should be able to contribute to the following ongoing research activities of
the department: physical properties of solid-state nanostructures, optics and photonics,
photovoltaics, quantum physics and quantum information, soft condensed matter and
statistical physics, spintronics, and ultrafast phenomena.
Candidates are expected to teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs in
Physics and to connect to the research activities of our department and if possible also
to related departments in the Faculty of Sciences. We are interested in candidates who
have an excellent international publication record and exhibit strong skills in the
