The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
Full Professor of Entrepreneurship and Digital Business Models
pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: € 6530.03) to commence on 1 April 2019. This is a permanent civil service position. Additional salary components will be negotiated separately.
We expect a distinguished research profile focusing on entrepreneurship, digital business models and business model innovation using substantiated methodological expertise.
Applicants should excel by way of related publications in international research journals and show dedication to academic teaching. We also expect experience in interdisciplinary
research and teaching, and participation in international research networks.
The new professor is to be linked to the position of founding director of the newly established Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation if he or she has the
appropriate qualifications. We thus require leadership experience. The new professor will be expected to play a pivotal role in building up new degree programmes
in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation, and to intensify the transfer and cooperation activities of the University. We thus expect experience in knowledge
transfer and in obtaining third-party funding.
In addition to the general administrative requirements, prerequisites for this position are (according to the BayHSchPG Article 7 and Article 10 para 3) a university
degree, a doctoral degree, proven excellence in teaching and a post-doctoral qualification to teach at a professorial level (Habilitation). Alternatively,
evidence of equivalent scholarly achievement for example as a junior professor or in a non-university environment will also be considered. A further prerequisite
is the ability to teach in English. Only applicants who are 51 years of age or younger can be hired as civil servants (Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG).
