Full Professor of Ecological Resource Technology
at pay grade W 3 at the earliest convenience. This is a permanent civil service position.
We are looking for applicants from the field of resource sciences with a strong international background in modeling and simulation. Beyond classical mineral resources, the focus of their research will be on the recycling of secondary resources covering the full context of ecological, economical and ethical questions. Applicants must demonstrate research excellence in theoretical analysis in one or more of the following fields: environmental climate protection, substitution of fossil energy sources with regenerative energy sources, scarcity of natural resources, environmentally friendly processes for recuperation of secondary resources. Experience with third-party funding is required, as well as the ability to complement existing expertise in the faculty.
The professor will be expected to incorporate his/her own innovative ideas in the existing focus areas Ecology & the Environmental Sciences and Energy Research & Energy Technology, which represent important pillars of research at the University of Bayreuth. In the medium term, it is expected that we will add courses held in German to the existing range of undergraduate courses and that new courses, especially at the master's level (in English and German), will be developed based on new findings in engineering.
