Full Professor of
Didactics of Chemistry
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 7,217 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
Applicants are expected to have experience in teaching a methodically oriented didactics of chemistry, excellent achievements in a current field of educational research for the subject chemistry, preferably in modern forms of teaching, such as digitalization, to be proven through national and international publications, experience in acquiring third-party funding as well as experience in interdisciplinary cooperation with other natural science subjects or didactics.
Close cooperation with the specialist groups of the Chemistry Department, the focus areas Polymer & Colloid Science, Advanced Materials, Energy Research & Energy Technology, and the Center for Mathematics & Science Education (Z-MNU) and the University of Bayreuth’s Centre for Teacher Education (ZLB) is expected.
Applicants should carry out the didactic training in the chemistry-related teaching degree courses for secondary schools independently in research and teaching, including the supervision of practical school studies. The postholder will also be responsible for coordinating and organizing the teaching degree courses in chemistry as well as other tasks and activities in connection with the state examination. The ability to teach in German and English is expected.
