in Urban Planning Faculty of Architecture
We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in
the area of Urban Planning. The starting date is 2018/03/01.
Recognized expertise in the following areas is particularly welcome:
The generation and transfer of urban design and urban
planning knowledge in particular regarding transformation and
urbanisation processes, for the design of interdisciplinary and
cross-stakeholder urban development processes as well as for
local governance are key areas of focus. This professorship demands
outstanding scientific expertise, pertaining also to the
development of innovative planning theory methods as well as
cooperation with other faculties of the RWTH Aachen University.
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (post-doctoral
lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of research
achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor
or university researcher and/or an outstanding career outside
academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to
teaching are essential. The application should include supporting
documents regarding success in teaching. German is not
necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language
within the first 5 years.
