Full Professor (W3) in Anthropogenic material cycles Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering
We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research
in the area of Anthropogenic material cycles . The starting date
is April 1, 2020 . The overall goal is the quantitative description
and assessment of material systems, individual processes and
process chains according to technical, economic, ecological
and sustainability aspects of post-consumer and post-production
In line with RWTH Aachen`s objective of establishing an integrated,
interdisciplinary science landscape, the professorship
will focus on research questions related to secondary raw materials.
The professorship is located within RWTH’s Section of
Raw Materials and Waste Management (FRE) and is to engage
with RWTH’s Profil Area Energy, Chemical & Process Engineering.
Cooperations are to be extended within the faculty and with
other RWTH faculties in order to acquire and successfully carry
out research projects on a national and European level. For this
purpose, a substantial technical equipment is available, which
allows the construction of process chains of dry-mechanical
waste processing for particle size distributions up to 300 mm as
well as the sensor-based characterization of anthropogenic
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (post-doctoral
lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of research
achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor
or university researcher and/or an outstanding career outside
academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to
teaching are essential. The application should include supporting
documents regarding success in teaching. German is not
necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language
within the first 5 years.
The faculty is preferably looking for engineers or scientists who
already have proven, profound knowledge and experience in
the fields of recycling technology, solid waste utilization or
evaluation of recycling processes.
