Full Professor (W3) for Special Obstetrics focusing on Midwifery
The successful candidate will be under an initial five-years contract. The option of a permanent
professorship will be open if funds are available.
The successful candidate must represent the subject in research, teaching and clinical practice.
The task of the professorship is to play a role in the development, implementation, and the
cooperative management (together with the W3 professor of Women’s Health and Midwifery) of
the primary qualification degree program Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) within the Health
Campus Tübingen - Esslingen. A focus on practical obstetrics is required. The successful
candidate will be one of the colleagues responsible for the program’s practice-related teaching
profile and will supplement the role of research in the program. Close cooperation with the
research institute for Women's Health at the Department of Women's Health Tübingen is
Formal requirements are complete higher education studies including a doctorate and the
Habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualification, as well as a complete qualification as a
midwife or equivalent qualification, and comprehensive professional and teaching experience in
the training of midwives. Didactic aptitude and experience in establishing and implementing
midwifery study programs are particularly desirable. Research experience particularly in
Midwifery and the demonstrable obtaining of third-party funding are also expected. Active
participation in existing and planned joint research projects, the development of national and
international research networks in the context of the Health Campus, and participation in
research training groups with Health Care Science are also expected.
