The candidates’ research should focus on one or more of the following fields: Environmental and climate protection, sustainable development goals, relationships between transnational companies and NGOs, international institutions and organizations, lobbying and corruption. Furthermore, research ought to tie in well with FAU’s key research priority “Cultural Values, Religions and Human Rights”.

Knowledge of a further language is desired. They will also be expected to manage international partnerships with other universities.
Successful candidates show an excellent academic track record in research and teaching at the highest international standards. You have substantial research experience abroad and/or international cooperation as well as experience in managing research projects and in raising third-party funding. The position also requires additional postdoctoral qualifications. These should be in the form of a habilitation (postdoctoral thesis) or equivalent academic qualifications. You may also have acquired these necessary qualifications in a non-university context or through a junior faculty position (for example as W1 Professor or Assistant Professor).
FAU expects applicants to demonstrate academic leadership, engage in early career development and to drive FAU’s strategic agenda. FAU pursues a policy of intense student mentoring and therefore expects its teaching staff to be present during lecture periods.
