The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg
invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) for Immunomodulating
oncogenic signal transduction
in the Department of Medicine I (Specialities: Hematology,
Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation), to
be filled as soon as possible.
The future holder of this position will represent the
field in research and teaching and fulfils tasks of patient
care at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
The position is also associated with the clinical
leadership of the Molecular Tumor Board at the
Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg CCCF as well
as the leadership of the section „Personalized Medicine“
in the Department of Internal Medicine I.
The position holder should be a clinical expert in the
field of personalized oncology and have a translational
scientific focus in oncogenic signal transduction
with relevant in vivo mouse models. In addition, the
position holder is expected to competitively expand
and lead the CCCF's Personalized Trials portfolio
within the Molecular Tumor Board.
The Department of Internal Medicine I performs compulsory
teaching for the Human and Molecular Medicine
programs. The position holder should be proven
by teaching experience in these subjects.
Research experience abroad, the ability to attract
competitive and high-ranking third-party funding
(e.g. DFG, BMBF, EU, DKH etc.) as well as the willingness
to participate in integrated research networks
(ZPM, DNPM) is expected.
Requirements for the appointment are in addition to
the compliance with the employment regulations,
the completion of a university degree in human medicine,
educational qualification, a very good doctorate
degree and a board certification (Facharztanerkennung)
in internal medicine and hematology and
oncology. Applicants should have a Habilitation or
an equivalent qualification (§ 47 Landeshochschulgesetz,
LHG).
The position is limited to five years and according
to § 50 para 2 LHG as an employee. A prerequisite
for the establishment of the professorship is that an
application submitted by the person to be appointed
has received a positive decision in the Mildred
Scheel Professorship Programme of the Deutsche
Krebshilfe.
