Full Professorship (W3) for Digital Transformation in Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a

The future holder of this position will represent the field of Digital Transformation in Medicine in research and teaching. She/he will be the director of the Institute for Digitalisation in Medicine (IDIM) at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg. We await research activities to improve quality assurance in medicine in real-time and teaching activities promoting innovative methods of knowledge sharing. To achieve these goals, internal resources and expertise should be connected.

Requirements for the appointment are in addition to the compliance with the employment regulations for professors, the completion of a university degree in medicine, educational qualification, a very good doctorate degree, and a board certification (Facharztanerkennung) in a field closely related to digitalisation. Applicants should have a Habilitation or an equivalent qualification (§ 47 Landeshochschulgesetz, LHG). Documented experience with a reformed/ model curriculum in medicine as well as medicine-related bachelor‘s/master‘s courses are expected. Since the tasks require interdisciplinary and cross-hospital knowledge as well as in-depth change management skills, several years of experience in the management committees of a university medical center, faculty of medicine and university are essential prerequisites.

The position is tenured according to § 50 para 1 LHG.
