We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research
in the area of Construction Management and Digital Engineering.
The starting date is 01.04.2020.
The professorship has a focus on engineering-oriented research
and is expected to represent the construction management, in
the future especially with regard to digital planning and construction.
It is expected that the future jobholder will represent the entire
curriculum of the current Chair of Construction and Project
Management. In particular, this includes project management
and development, construction contract law as well as construction
process technology and is accompanied by offers from external
lecturers. The introduction of new courses, especially in
the field of digital engineering, is expressly welcomed.
Key areas of the engineering-oriented research may include the
application of collaborative, digital planning methods in construction
process management, the study of innovative construction
techniques, e.g. in the context of autonomous construction,
as well as the use of novel production methods for
construction (lean production, lean construction, just-in-time or
just-in-sequence production). Further research topics are seen
in the complexity management and the efficiency of construction
processes as well as in the area of human resources in the construction
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (postdoctoral
lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of research
achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior
professor or university researcher and/or an outstanding career
outside academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment
to teaching are essential. The application should include
supporting documents regarding success in teaching.
German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a
teaching language within the first 5 years.
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds is desired. A
high level of willingness to network with the national and international
construction industry as well as interdisciplinary cooperation
in research and teaching is required
