The Faculty of Natural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Molecular Botany
at the Institute of Botany to be filled in the winter semester 2019/20.
The applicant should have excellent qualifications and have conducted internationally renowned
research in a current field of botany, e.g. the molecular interaction of plants with other organisms or
plant-environment interaction. It is expected that the candidate is willing to work in interdisciplinary
In teaching, the professorship represents the full spectrum of Botany in the Faculty of Natural
Sciences' Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Biology and in the semi-elective and elective areas of
related degree programs.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for
applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been
established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.
The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of
