We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of Chemical Technology. The starting date is as soon as possible. The successful applicant will become a member of the Institute für Technische und Makromolekulare Chemie (ITMC) of the chemistry department of RWTH Aachen University.
An internationally recognized profile in a modern field of chemical technologies complementing the existing expertise at ITMC is essential. Of particular interest is the chemical exploitation of renewable carbon sources. The professorship will strengthen interdisciplinary research in the excellence cluster "The Fuel Science Center" and profile areas "Molecular Science and Engineering" and "Energy and Chemical Process Engineering". Within this context, a close cooperation with the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (Mülheim an der Ruhr) is already in place. An excellent track record of national and international third party funding, project coordination and experience in interdisciplinary projects is required.
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, habilitation (or equivalent post-doctoral scientific qualification), an exemplary record of research achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor or university researcher and/or an outstanding career outside academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching and three sample publications (including an estimation of their value).
German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within the first 5 years.
