The Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration is, in Switzerland, the largest university and interdisciplinary entity for training, research and expertise dedicated entirely and exclusively to the public and parapublic sector. Founded in 1981, it has been integrated into the University of Lausanne in 2014 (Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration-FDCA).
The development and delivery of courses focused on political institutions and public administration, and their interrelationships, across IDHEAP’s different training programmes (master’s degree and continuing education).
Conducting research on the functioning and reform of political institutions and public administrations. This research should focus on (without being limited to) cases in Switzerland, ideally using a comparative perspective.
Developing consultancy and service provision activities for the community, particularly for the benefit of public sector entities facing challenges related to the fields covered by this position.
A PhD in political science, public administration or another social science discipline.
A deep and thorough understanding of the theoretical debates concerning the functioning of Switzerland’s political–administrative system and of existing comparative research on other political–administrative systems.
Excellent command of appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
