Endowed Professor (W2)
of Preclinical Imaging of the Immune System
The Professor will have an employment contract for six years under § 50 (2)(5) of the Baden-Württemberg state law covering higher education and specifically the promotion of highly gifted junior researchers; the position will be financed via third-party funding.
The successful candidate will have many years of expertise in various preclinical imaging procedures (optical imaging, PET, MRI, microscopy) or in a broad field of applications in immunology (cell trafficking, oncoimmunology, experimental immunotherapy, infectiology). The ideal candidate combines the fields of imaging science and immunology, or is an expert in a particular field, and is prepared to specialize in the respective other area. Close cooperation is expected with the Faculty of Medicine's core research areas, particularly with clinical imaging, immunology and oncology. Active involvement in existing and future research networks as well as active participation in teaching are required.
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent international degree in natural sciences or in medicine and the Habilitation or postdoctoral qualifications equivalent to the requirements for tenure. This includes evidence of teaching effectiveness.
