Endowed Chair for
Digital Communication
with a focus on
Crisis Communication
(full professor) (m/f/d)
The future appointee will develop and represent the discipline of communication studies with a focus on 'crisis and risk communication' in
teaching, research, and transfer. Applicants have a record of outstanding teaching and research in the field of communication studies. Relevant research activities are expected in digital communication, with a
noticeable focus on crisis and risk communication of companies and
organizations in a national and European or in an international context.
Furthermore, research experience in the field of strategic communication of associations and organizations in business or politics as well as
in reputation management are desired.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate an outstanding,
distinguished research activity, e.g. through peer-reviewed journal articles, and publications with internationally renowned publishers, as well
as by having successfully aquired research grants.
Teaching at ZU has a high reputation for its research-based learning,
project-centered work in small groups, and student research. The appointee is expected to offer teaching formats that help further develop
this profile. At the same time, he/she is expected to offer Bachelor, Master and PhD courses in English. ZU also requires the applicant to show
an interest in interdisciplinarity as well as a willingness to participate in
academic self-management. The employment conditions comply with
those for the appointment of a professorship according to § 47 Higher
Education Act of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Severely disabled
