Electronic Engineer for analog & digital systems

The engineer will become a member of the Department of Electronics Development at DESY in Zeuthen. As a service provider, the department develops specialized electronics (hardware, firmware, and software) for experiments in particle accelerators, astroparticle and particle physics. These electronic devices are used for acquisition and processing of scientific data from experiments at DESY and worldwide, for instance the Photo Injector Test Facility Zeuthen (PITZ).

About your role:

  • Participation in the development and commissioning of complex electronic systems and equipment for accelerator, astroparticle and particle physics projects
  • Support and documentation of complex electronic systems with EPLAN
  • Setup, operation, test, and integration into existing systems as well as troubleshooting
  • Documentation, publication and presentation of work results

About you:

  • University degree in electrical engineering, information technology or equivalent qualification
  • Extensive technical knowledge in electronic instrumentation and analog technology
  • Experience in using ECAD systems (e.g. EPLAN)
  • Expert knowledge in electronic circuit design is an advantage
  • Expert knowledge in automation technology is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team in an international environment
  • Good English and German language skills, both written and spoken
