We are a leading research institute in the field of European legal history.
We are looking to recruit an
Editor (English publications)
from 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Your main task will be to edit texts in the field of legal history written in English by researchers from Germany and elsewhere for whom
English is a second language. You will translate technical texts from German into English, support the preparation of various English-language
publications and work together with our editorial staff and directly with the authors/editors, depending on the demands of the project.
You have an excellent command of English (native-speaker level) and German, both written and spoken. You have successfully completed a
university degree (in law or another discipline relevant to the research at the Institute). Ideally, you already have several years of
experience in a comparable position and in academic publishing. You have a strong command of MS Office applications as well as InDesign
or a similar programme, and you are able to perform your tasks independently and on time. You have a very good eye for detail and work accurately.

The job is a part-time position (currently 19,5 hours per week). Payment and social benefits are based on the public service wage agreement (TVÖD).
The position is a two-year, fixed-term appointment initially but with the intention to extend the contract into a permanent position.
