Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC) and International Leibniz Research School (ILRS Jena)
he Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC) is
funded by the German Excellence Initiative. The structured,
interdisciplinary training program based on toplevel
fundamental research combines different areas to
form a comprehensive picture of microbial communication
(www.jsmc.uni-jena.de). Institutes at five faculties of the Friedrich
Schiller University Jena, six non-university research institutes
as well as 12 partner companies are participating in this cuttingedge
research and training program: Open JSMC PhD positions
The International Leibniz Research School (ILRS Jena) is the
graduate training program of the Leibniz Institute for Natural
Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute -
in cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University and the Max
Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology (www.ilrs.de). It
provides excellent research conditions and ambitious projects
covering all aspects of microbial and biomolecular interactions:

Together, these graduate training programs invite applications for
16 Doctoral Researcher Positions
Research projects on several topics in Natural, Life and Computational Sciences
a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the natural or life sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Geosciences, Biomedical Sciences,
Biotechnology, etc.). Candidates in the final stages of obtaining their degree are eligible to apply.
high motivation and interest in joining one of the interdisciplinary research areas of JSMC or ILRS

The doctoral researcher positions are available starting from from the beginning of 2018. The positions will be financially supported corresponding
to TV-L (salary agreement for public service employees). The Friedrich Schiller University and the HKI are equal opportunity
