Data Scientist (f/m/d)
The Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) is a center for data-intensive computing and the analysis of large-scale data with high national and international visibility as well as an innovative and agile IT service provider at KIT – in short, the KIT Information Technology Center.
In the SDM department we are looking for a team reinforcement for our research data management. In all disciplines, it is becoming increasingly important to archive data according to FAIR principles.
In your new position you will deal with:
- Advising KIT researchers on existing data storage systems and services (especially bwDataArchive and the LSDF)
- Close cooperation with the project management and the related software development for RADAR4KIT
- Further development of interfaces and collaboration in the administration of data storage systems and services
- Integration in configuration management systems
Personal qualification
You bring with you:
- A completed university degree (Diplom (Uni)/Master) with a focus on a MINT subject (mathematics, computer science, natural science and technology)
- Experience in software development in a modern programming language or scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP)
- Interest in the operation and administration of Linux-based IT systems and services.
Advantageous are:
- Experience in research data management
- Very good language skills (English / German), both written and spoken
- Self-initiative and an independent way of working as well as the interest to familiarize yourself with new topics
