The Rudolf Virchow Center - Center for Integrative and Translational Bioimaging (RVZ) is a research center of the University of Würzburg with particular focus on imaging technologies in the biomedical life sciences. Research groups at the RVZ aim at visualising physiological processes from the atomic to the tissue and organ level in both healthy and diseased organisms. State-of-the-art approaches are used to investigate key regulatory proteins with the overall goal to further our understanding of disease mechanisms and develop novel therapeutic strategies.
The Rudolf Virchow Center is recruiting a
Communications and Outreach Officer (m/f/d)
(part-time employment, 75% of full position)
The successful candidate will be responsible for RVZ public outreach activities at the intersection of science and society. A particular focus will be on redesigning the RVZ website and social media activities. Writing press releases and reports as well as internal communication and the organization of conferences and meetings will also be part of the job.
You have:
- An academic degree, preferably in the life sciences
- Excellent command of both written and spoken German and English
- Experience with science communication, science-related outreach activities
- Organizational skills
Ideally, you are familiar with life science research from your own experience. Excellent communication skills, open-mindedness, flexibility, team spirit as well as an eye for detail would also definitely be assets.
Salary is commensurate with training and experience according to salary agreement (TV-L). The position is initially fixed-term for two years with the possibility of extension.
