COGNITIVE RADAR SCIENTIST* SIGNAL-PROCESSING / DEEP LEARNING
The Fraunhofer-Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques FHR in Wachtberg near Bonn is part of the large Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and one of the leading and largest European research institutes in the field. We develop concepts, methods and systems for electromagnetic sensor technology, particularly for radar and radiometry.
The Cognitive Radar department investigates research topics on the interface between information processing and radar system technology. Machine learning and artificial intelligence methods allow for an optimal adaptation of the radar system within its environment. The evaluation of innovative solutions using advanced experimental systems and real-world demonstrations is of great importance.
Your tasks are:
Research and implementation of novel cognitive radar signal-processing methods
Application of novel deep learning approaches for radar applications
Simulation and experimental proof of developed methods
Presentation of results in (inter-)national conferences and workshop
Reporting and support in the acquisition of new projects
What we expect from you:
An above average University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics with focus on signal processing or telecommunications
First working experience in high frequency or communications engineering
Good programming skills in MATLAB
Good German and English skills (both at least B2 level)
Ability to coordinate your tasks and work in a team
Ambition and proactive attitude

The position is initially limited to 2 years.
