Scientific environment
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and in the future to the TUM School of Computation, Information & Technology is combined with the position as head of the Department »Hardware Security« at Fraunhofer AISEC.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists and teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.
The professorship is associated with the collegial head of the "Hardware Security" department at Fraunhofer AISEC, which includes the scientific, technical, and entrepreneurial control and development of the division within the Fraunhofer model. In addition to the thematic orientation of the research, you will be involved in project acquisition and management, the transfer of results to industry and personnel management.
Qualifications
We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Trusted Electronics with focus on
  • New methods and tools for analyzing trustworthiness of electronic components
  • Architecture and circuit design for trusted processors and cryptographic accelerators
  • New methods to ensure trustworthiness along the electronic supply chain
  • Analysis and hardening of electronics against counterfeiting and Trojan insertion
We are looking for candidates with experience in managing a research group and in acquisition and implementation of national and international research and development projects. International research and teaching experience and/or experience in international projects as well as in scientific-political networking would be an advantage.
