The research focus of the Institute of General Pedagogy and Vocational
Education is on education, work, professionalisation, and digitalisation.
It pursues challenges for pedagogical theory and practice resulting
from fundamental social change.
We are looking for an outstanding personality with a research profile
in the field of school pedagogy (Comprehension and Vocational
Schools) in the context of heterogeneity. The applicant must have a
solid track record in school pedagogy both in research and teaching.
The holder of the position should consider school and educational
processes in the context of society and in consideration of the heterogeneous
school reality. The focus will be on teacher education, professionalisation
and teaching development. The specific profile of the
Technische Universität Darmstadt and the "MINTplus2-project"
(systematic and coherent development of competence in teacher training
with a focus on STEM, digitalization and heterogeneity) should be
taken into account within the framework of the "Teacher Training
Quality Campaign" of the German Federal Government.
Commitment to interdisciplinary and international research cooperation
and active participation in the development of teacher training
courses in co-operation with the Centre for Teacher Training and
various fields of subject-matter education at Technische Universität
Darmstadt are expected of the successful applicant.
Teaching responsibilities will be mainly in teacher training courses (for
secondary school and vocational school branches) as well as in the

as well as pedagogical qualifications.
Previous professional practice in schools is expected as per § 62 Abs. 4
Hessisches Hochschulgesetz (HHG). Regulations on the maximum period
of scientific activities after the acquisition of the PhD degree as well
as all additional requirements for employment are subject to § 64 HHG
in the respective current version. The Assistant Professorship is
designed as Qualification Professorship as per § 64 HHG.
The professorship is financed by funds from the "Bund-Länder-Programm
zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses".
Remuneration follows the German "W-Besoldung" at level W2 Hessisches Besoldungsgesetz. The option of being promoted to a tenured
professorship after the 6-year period is foreseen and depends on the
achievements in research and teaching assessed in a tenure review.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number
