The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a position at the Center for Women’s Health as a
W1 assistant professor of Molecular Gynaecology
available immediately. In accordance with LGH § 51 (7) the assistant professor shall be employed for an initial four-year period and may be extended for a further two years following a positive interim evaluation.
The successful candidate is expected to represent the subject in research, teaching, and clinical practice. The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to interim evaluation and six hours thereafter.
Central tasks of this assistant professorship are the reinforcing of the core areas – minimally invasive concepts, medical technologies, and early diagnosis and prevention with particular attention to
their application in the field of women’s health. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to translation and bridge-building of the core competences in the areas of medical technologies and
regenerative medicine at the research institute for women’s health. Active participation in the University degree program in Medicine, in Medical Technologies, and in Biomedical Technologies, is also
expected. Active collaboration in existing and planned research networks at the University of Tübingen’s Faculty of Medicine is required.
Required qualifications include
a degree in Medicine and having commenced advanced training as a specialist for gynaecology and obstetrics
an above-average doctoral degree
Publications in international journals
The successful candidate’s core research areas will be in the areas of investigating the intracellular-molecular effects and clinical applications of physical low-temperature plasma, the characterisation of various medical plasma sources and the non-invasive treatment of intraepithelial neoplasia of the gynaecological membranes.
This position provides the opportunity and expectation that, in the course of the six years of the contract, the W1 assistant professor will attain the research and teaching achievements that will qualify him or her for a subsequent appointment as a tenured professor at a university or equivalent institution.
