The Faculty of Law of Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf invites applications for an
Assistant Professorship (W1) in Public Law/Criminal Law
with particular regard to legal issues of artificial intelligence
We are looking for a candidate who represents the field of public
law or criminal law both in research and in teaching. The language
of the lectures is German. A keen interest in legal questions of
digitalisation/artificial intelligence in research and teaching is
expected. An interest in ethical questions is desirable.
Candidates should develop an internationally recognized research
profile as well as a track record in high-level publications and in the
acquisition of third-party funding. A strong commitment to
academic teaching is expected.
Applicants will be hired in accordance with the general prerequisites
pertaining to service law of section 36 of the North Rhine-Westphalia
University Act (Hochschulgesetz NRW) which require an aptitude
for teaching, exceptional competence in research, and additional
