Computer Science (Data Science)
→ The Department of Computer Science (www.inf.ethz.ch) at
ETH Zurich invites applications for assistant professorships (tenure track) with focus on the following broad areas within computer science. For each area, several possible examples
(not exhaustive) of expertise are provided.
Data Science / Machine Learning (deep learning, optimization for machine learning, theory of deep learning, trustworthy learning systems, reinforcement learning)
Data Science / Data Management (databases, data management, data cleaning, data wrangling, distributed data processing, formal aspects of data management, database systems, streaming, hardware acceleration for data processing)

→ Applicants should be strongly rooted in computer science, have internationally
recognized expertise in their field and pursue research at the forefront of computer
science. Successful candidates should establish and lead a strong research programme.
They will be expected to supervise doctoral students and teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses (in German or in English). Collaboration in research and teaching is
expected both within the department and with other groups of ETH Zurich and related institutions.
