The University of Twente (UT) invites researchers with an outstanding research record in Combinatorial Optimization and/or Mechanism
Design to apply for an assistant professor position in the group Discrete Mathematics and Mathematical Programming (DMMP,
https://www.utwente.nl/ewi/dmmp/) of the Dept. Applied Mathematics in the Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science.
The expertise of the group DMMP is in the design and analysis of algorithms and mechanisms for optimization problems. The group consists of 8
permanent staff in research and teaching, covering a broad range of research themes, which fall in the research areas
Combinatorial & Mathematical Optimization,
Design & Analysis of Algorithms,
Algorithmic Game Theory.
Application areas are in energy, logistics, as well as traffic networks. Specifically, the group DMMP cooperates with the chair Computer
Architectures for Embedded Systems of the same faculty in Decentralized Energy Management. We develop Mathematics and ICT to improve
the overall efficiency of energy systems. The main focus is on smart grid technology, matching the best possible energy generation to
the requested demand over time. We are (inter-)nationally leading in this area, see also et.ewi.utwente.nl/ . The candidate is expected
