The successful candidate will be responsible for part of the Pharmaceutical Technology curriculum in the degree programs Pharmacy (state exam program) and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies (Master program). In particular the degree program “Pharmacy,” should be taught in German. The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to interim evaluation, and six hours thereafter. Independent research activities in Pharmaceutical Technology are expected. The candidate is expected to have a research focus in application-oriented basic research in an up-to-date field of Pharmaceutical Technology or related field, preferably related to Additive Manufacturing Methods or Bioprinting / Tissue Engineering. We expect cooperation with the research groups of the Department of Pharmacy and Biochemistry as well as the Faculty of Medicine in conjunction with the research focus, research alliances and Clusters of Excellence (TüCADD, iFIT) at the University of Tübingen. In particular, collaboration in translational research with the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology is expected.
In the course of the contract, the W1 professor is expected to attain the research and teaching achievements that will qualify him or her for an appointment as a tenured professor at any university or equivalent institution (Habilitation).
Required qualifications include an outstanding doctoral thesis in Pharmaceutical Technology or a related field, recognizable potential for internationally visible publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals, as well as teaching experience. A permit (“Approbation”) to work as a pharmacist in Germany is desired. The candidate is expected to actively participate in the University of Tübingen’s and the Faculty of Science’s academic self-administration.
