Assistant / Associate Professorship (W1) of Philosophy
University of Tübingen
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Tübingen invites applications for
the position of assistant/associate professor (W 1) of Philosophy.
The position is due to commence on October 1st, 2018.
The holder of the position‘s / the successful candidate‘s responsibilities will
include the organization and teaching of the Introduction to Logic in the Department
of Philosophy‘s undergraduate programs. S/he will be requested to teach
four to six hours per week (during the winter and summer terms).
Requirements for appointment are an excellent PhD dissertation in a relevant
topic, international publications, and preferably teaching experience. The successful
candidate is expected to teach in German Language within a year after
The chosen candidate is expected to carry out research independently. Furthermore,
the selected person should fulfil the research and teaching obligations
required for appointment as full professor at a university or equivalent
institution. The position is initially limited to four years with the possibility of
extension by a further two years. For the formal requirements for assistant professors
