The Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Materials
Engineering of the University of Augsburg, Center of Electronic
Correlations and Magnetism, Chair of Experimental Physics VI
(Prof. Dr. Philipp Gegenwart) is offering a full-time non-permanent
"Akademische Rätin/Akademischer Rat" Position (A 13)
Researcher Position (13 TV-L)
in the field of experimental condensed matter physics with focus on
electronic correlations and magnetism at the chair EP VI (Prof. Dr. Philipp
Gegenwart) starting from April 1st, 2019 until March 31st, 2022.
Topic is the investigation of quantum materials, in which correlation
effects lead to novel low-temperature states (e.g. quantum criticality,
magnetic frustration, unconventional superconductivity). Methodically,
the group uses a wide spectrum of techniques, including crystal- and
thin-film synthesis, characterization and low-temperature thermodynamic
and transport properties down to Millikelvin temperatures.
The position has a teaching load up to 10 hours per week during lecture
period and successful candidates should intend to habilitate.
Conditions of employment:
University degree in physics (PhD)
Furthermore, skills and experience in the above research directions
in the field of electronic correlations and magnetism, at least two
years after PhD are appreciated.
