Who are we
The International Graduate School for Battery Chemistry, Characterization, Analysis, Recycling and Application („BACCARA“) is a graduate school where doctoral candidates from all over the world have the possibility to deal with all aspects of battery research. The research program includes materials research, (macro) molecular chemistry, electrochemistry, catalysis and battery cell research for energy storage as well as life cycle analyses and recycling. Another aspect is theoretical chemistry with research in the area of modern information technologies, including data analysis, simulations and machine learning.

We would like to bring exceptional talents to Münster - especially from the international field - in order to enable them to become outstanding researchers and to promote their development into personalities. A brilliant course of studies, above-average grades, high mobility, excellent practical skills in the laboratory and cooperation skills as well as sufficient knowledge of the English language are prerequisites for a successful application.
What’s the most valuable advice you can give for interviewees at your institution?
Solid basic knowledge of chemistry and battery cells is very helpful.
