The Faculty of Medicine of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg invites applications for a position as

W 3-Professor of Neuroradiology (Chair)

The future holder of the position will represent the field of Neu­ro­ra­dio­lo­gy in research, teaching, and patient care.

The internationally accomplished candidate should have ex­per­tise in all scientific, clinical, and practical concerns. Readiness to collaborate with other clinical and theoretical disciplines of the university hospital and other scientific institutions is man­da­to­ry. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the scientific main foci of the Faculty of Medicine, especially the research area of "Neuro Sciences".

The duties and responsibilities in the field of patient care will be subject to a separate employment contract with the University Medical Center Freiburg. The future holder of the position will be head of the department of Neuroradiology.

A MD degree, a board certification in Diagnostic Radiology with emphasis on Neuroradiology and a postdoctoral lecturing qua­li­fi­ca­tion (Habilitation) or the equivalent are required. In­ter­na­tio­nally recognized research achievements, experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding and in leading educational and research programs are expected. Applicants might be asked to demonstrate their teaching skills. In addition, candidates must have demonstrated effective administrative and managerial skills especially with regard to resource ma­nage­ment.

The W 3-position is tenured according to § 50 para. 1 State University Law (Landeshochschulgesetz) and available for immediate filling.
