The Business School of the University of Mannheim is seeking to fill the following professorship for the Graduate School for Empirical and Quantitative Methods in the Economic and Social Sciences (GESS, funded by the ‘Excellence Initiative’), beginning with the fall/winter semester 2010. The position is initially available for a period of three years.
W2-professorship for Business Administration, Finance & Accounting
The holder of the professorship represents the field of empirical and quantitative research in business administration and, with regards to content, the field of Finance and Accounting in research and teaching. The participation in the education of Ph.D. students within the Mannheim Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB), in particular in the field of Finance and Accounting, is required. In this respect, emphasis is placed on the teaching of scientific methods.
According to § 47 Abs. 1 LHG (state university law of the state Baden-Wuerttemberg), applicants should have acquired a university degree, preferably a Ph.D. degree and additional academic achievements (in terms of § 47 Abs. 2 LHG) which will be evaluated during the appointment procedure. They should also have teaching experience and provide evidence of educational qualification.
The appointment results in the civil service status for a limited period of time if the general prerequisites in relation to public sector employment law are fulfilled.
The University of Mannheim places utmost importance on student support services. Hence, lecturers are required to be present and approachable at university.
