FBH is co-financed by the State of Berlin and the German government. It is one of the world-wide leading institutes for applied research on high-power diode lasers and microwave components & systems for communication, traffic and ma­nu­fac­turing engineering, space technology, medicine and biotechnology. Based on III-V semiconductors, research activities range from design & simulation, semiconductor processing, interconnects, moun­ting & packaging to deliverable modules. The value chain comprises device design, expitaxial growth, wafer processing in a flexible process line in clean room environment as well as characterization, evaluation and assembly of devices. To amplify our newly established team for InP-based THz electronics we are currently seeking a

Scientist / PhD Student

Semiconductor Device Technology

KZ 01a/12

You should have an MSc or diploma in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or a related field. Your background should be in experimental work on semiconductor device technology, physics or microtechnology. You will develop, characterize and evaluate technologies of hetero-integration of devices processed in InP heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology and silicon BiCMOS technology. Consolidated knowledge about semiconductor device processing, preferably of InP or HBTs is essential.

We are looking for team players with a high level of communication skills and reliability to work in the multidisciplinary team of scientists and technicians at FBH. Excellent language skills in English are required. Willingness for participation in two-shift work is obligatory.

We offer an attractive and family-friendly working environment with interesting tasks and the opportunity to do a PhD. Payment is according to TVöD (collective labour agreement for German public service). The position is available immediately and as a start limited in time to 2 years with option for prolongation.
