For our Ticona R&D department in Oberhausen we are looking for a

Research and Development Scientist (m/f)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new technologies/products in the field of polyethylene chemistry
  • Liaise with market development to identify new growth ideas and grow technology leadership position by developing sustainable, breakthrough technology solutions
  • Carry out literature search and identify technical paths to solve customer issues and develop new products
  • Leverage six sigma tools, especially DOE's to drive product development process
  • Reporting in English

Profile:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or Polymer Engineering
  • Several years of working experience in the industry, preferably in the field of polyolefines/ polyethylenes
  • Strong technical background in polymer science, polymer physics, characterization and thermoplastics technologies to engage and lead technical discussions
  • Ability to interface with commercial organization
  • Understanding of how to use research processes (stage gate, portfolio) to deliver new products
  • Ability to drive technology, product and market innovation
  • Results orientation
  • Fluent in English and German
