The department of Neurology and Neurophysiology at the Neurological University Clinics of Freiburg invites applications for a full professorship
Professorship (W 3) for Functional Models of Multi-Scale Networks
The position is to be filled by 1st of November 2012. The professorship is responsible for both research and teaching. Research activities focused on topics defined by the medical faculty, in particular in the neurosciences, functional brain imaging, and cooperative projects with existing research clusters (e.g., Bernstein Fokus: Neurotechnology/BFNT, Bernstein Center Freiburg/BFC) are desired. The professorship is part of the proposed excellence cluster “BrainLinks-BrainTools“ (BLBT).
Applicants should have a final exam in Natural Sciences or Medicine, MD or PhD degree, and habilitation or equivalent scientific qualification. Moreover, the new professor is expected to be well experienced in leading research teams in an interdisciplinary research environment, competitive fundraising and supervision of students.
The initial appointment will be for five years. After a successful evaluation, the position will be converted into a permanent (tenured) W3-Professorhip.
