The Offenburg University of Applied Sciences for Technology, Economics and Media seeks to fill the following vacancy at the Department of Media and Information Technology (M+I) as soon as possible:

Professorship (W 3)

for "Computer Graphics and Designing interactive Media"

The professorship comprises the above mentioned subjects in terms of teaching, research and creative practice. The jobholder's task will be to teach conception, design and technical realisation of computer graphics, picture fonts and interactive media in Bachelor and Master courses. One emphasis will be the handling of interdisciplinary research projects. Further teaching content will be web/interface design for all platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) as well as all relevant output media (web, DVD, mobile communications).

We are looking for someone who has completed his or her studies with very good marks, who displays didactical smartness and a well-founded artistic or scientific education and practical knowledge. A suitable applicant is able to give proof of well-founded research experience in the field of interactive media and to contribute these skills along with the willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation to the expansion of our department. Preconditions are pedagogical suitability, particularly able to work in a scientific manner (usually graduate work) and at least five years of practical full-time work after completing studies, at least three years of which not in a university environment.

At first the job will be a professorship at a probationary civil service level. If the jobholder proves his or her value and if the mandatory preconditions persist as specified by civil service law the probationary status will be turned into a life-time civil service.
